Paleokastritsa
Paleokastritsa is located on the north-west coast of Corfu about 25 kms from Corfu Town. It is one of the most beautiful places in Corfu and enjoys a spectacular setting surrounded by several stunning bays with crystal clear water. It is a hilly area covered in olive groves and cypress trees. One of the bays was featured in the James Bond film 'For Your Eyes Only'. Because it is so well known and popular, it attracts lots of visitors.
Who it Appeals To:
A beautiful place that most people will enjoy but due to its popularity, it can be busy.
Tavernas/Restaurants/Bars:
Not known for its lively nightlife, there are good tavernas and some bars and clubs.
Shopping:
Many supermarkets and gift shops mainly the road into the village..jpg)
Paleokastritsa Beach:
The main beach is shingle and some of the bays are sandy. The water is crystal clear but deep. There are a few beautiful little coves with beaches in this area - some can only be reached by boat.

Main Paleokastritsa Beach - Yes ( Handicap Friendly).
Beach Facilities & Services:
Sun beds available on the main beach plus showers and toilets.
Water Sports & Boat Hire:
A selection of water sports, scuba diving, boat hire available. There are regular boat trips and a boat taxi service to the other beaches, coves and caves nearby.
Nearby:
The Moni Theotokos monastery is located high above Paleokastritsa. There is a gift shop and museum inside and you will have fabulous views from the monastery grounds.
The hillside village of Lakones is nearby.
Water taxis are available to take you to nearby sites including other small coves and sea caves around Paleokastritsa, and to Aghios Georgios.
Transport:
There is a regular bus service (green buses) between Paleokastritsa and Corfu Town. It takes about an hour by road to the capital.
