Messonghi

Messonghi is a relatively large, yet relaxing resort located about 20 kms south of Corfu Town. Messonghi is in a beautiful setting with green hills behind the resort and fabulous views across to the mainland. It is right next-door to Moraitika and is only divided by the Messonghi River. Moraitika is the livelier of the two resorts.

Something for everyone here - families, couples, young people.

Tavernas/Restaurants/Bars:

Cosmopolitan tavernas, restaurants and bars - on the beach and the main road. For a livelier nightlife, Moraitika is a short walk away.

Shopping:

Supermarkets, gift shops, bakeries, travel agent.

Messonghi Beach:

A long, sandy/shingle beach with crystal-clear, shallow water. A good beach for children.

Blue Flag Beach:

No.

Beach Facilities & Services:

Umbrellas and sunbeds available together with showers, change-rooms and toilets.

Water Sports & Boat Hire:

Pedalos, banana boats, jet-skiing, paragliding and boats for hire.

Nearby:

Some lovely traditional villages worth visiting including Agios Dimitrios, Hlomos, Hlomatiana, Kato Spilaio and Vrangianiotica. They are up in the hills and have fabulous views.

It is not far across to Lake Korission and the beautiful beaches on the west coast.

A regular bus service plus taxis available.
