Lake Korission

Lake Korission is a beautiful saltwater lagoon in south-west Corfu about 31 kms from Corfu Town. This is an area of great natural beauty and is home to rare vegetation and to hundreds of different types of birds, some of them rare species. You will find curlews, great white egrets, oyster birds, widgeons and cormorants.

There are wonderful views in this area - between Lake Korission and the sea is beautiful Halikounas Beach and inland you can see Mt Agios Matheos. The lagoon is surrounded by lush green vegetation including a small forest of cedar and juniper trees.

Halikounas Beach:

Halikounas beach is the closest to Lake Korission. It is a 3 km long, sandy beach with shallow water and sand dunes.
