Korakiana

Korakiana is a  traditional hillside village 16.9 kms (about 25 minutes) north west of Corfu Town. This ancient village sits in the foothills of the Pantokrator mountain range, surrounded by beautiful countryside and offers wonderful views as far as the Greek mainland. 

The upper section of the village, Ano Korakiana, was the birthplace of loannis Kapodistrias, the first president of newly independent Greece.

There are no tourist resorts here. This is a residential village and you will find accommodation in a selection of villas and apartments. It is renowned for its Venetian architecture. There are 30 churches in the region to explore and many fine walks. You have the best of both worlds as you are only a few minutes drive from the sea.
