Issos

Issos beach is in the southern part of Corfu about 30 kms south of Corfu Town. The coastal region of Issos is known for its long sandy beach and nearby Korission Lake. It is an area of natural beauty and a protected area (Natura 2000). There are no resorts here. The sunset over the dunes is very special.

Water Sports & Boat Hire:

This is one of the best places for windsurfing, kite surfing and paragliding on Corfu. The beach is popular with windsurfers because it is often windy. There are two windsurfing schools on the beach and both rent all equipment and offer lessons. The winds are usually strongest in August (average of 6 knots). The best time of year to learn is from May to July.

Nearby:

The sand-dunes, the cedar forest and Lake Korrison are wonderful walking areas.

The lively resort of Agios Georgios (south) is about 5 kms away.

Transport:

Green Buses have a regular service along the main road and will drop passengers of at the turn-off to Issos Beach. It is a 2 km walk to the beach. This area is best seen reached by car. There is parking close to the beach.
