Gouvia is a popular tourist resort located on the east coast of Corfu about 8 kms north of Corfu Town. Gouvia was once a Venetian naval base and with the bay almost completely closed on all sides it is now home to Corfu's largest yachting marina. There are some very upmarket properties at Gouvia.

The nightlife in Gouvia is very good. There is a wide choice of cuisine in Gouvia - English, Italian, Chinese, Mexican and Greek. There are some very good restaurants, tavernas, several good bars and a couple of nightclubs.

Large supermarkets including Diellas. There are plenty of shops and a 24-hour clinic.
Gouvia Beach:
There are a few narrow fine shingle beaches at Gouvia. The drop into the sea is sharp. The safest part of the beach is the centre. The ends of the beach are used for boating and motor sports.

Water Sports & Boat Hire:

Nearby:
One kilometre from Gouvia is Danilia, a purpose-built settlement which replicates a traditional Greek village. Handicrafts and tourist souvenir shops are available. In the evenings there are folklore performances.
The resorts of Kontokali, Dassia and Komeno are also close by.
Transport:
There is a regular bus (blue buses) service between Gouvia and Corfu Town and the trip takes about 20 minutes. Green buses travel between Gouvia and the northern resorts. Taxis are readily available.
