Getting to Corfu

Corfu has an international airport located 1 kilometre south from the center of Corfu Town. There are daily flights to and from Athens and the flying time is about one hour. There are also flights to Thessaloniki three or four times a week.

During the summer season, there are many international charter flights between Europe and Corfu every single day, so it is easy to be on the island in just 2-3 of hours from most European airports. Because of the competition you can find air tickets at very good prices.

Air Sea Lines, based at Gouvia Marina (about 8 kms from Corfu Town), runs a seaplane service:

  • To and from Paxos, and
  • To and from Ioannina, Patra, and other Ionian islands.

By Sea

Corfu can be reached by ferry and hydrophoil:Old Fortress, Corfu

  • There is a daily service from Igoumenitsa (on the Greek mainland) to Corfu (from 6 am to 10 pm) and the trip takes about one to one-and-a-half hours, depending on the type of ferry. In the summer, ferries travel to and from Igoumenitsa every 15 minutes.
     
  • Ferries travel between Corfu and Patra. It is about a seven to eight hour trip. These ferries go to Italy and stop in Corfu port for embarkation.
     
  • The sea connection Corfu-Italy is frequent and the main cities are Bari, Ankona, Venice and Brindisi. During the summer there are daily connections with Venice. Throughout the year there are daily connections with Italian ports such as Brindisi and Ancona.
     
  • There is a local connection between Corfu, Paxoi, Othonoi, Erikousa and Mathraki.
     
  • Corfu's 'Flying Dolphin' hydrophoil service runs between Corfu and Paxos, and Corfu and Albania
     

 

By Your Own Yacht

If you come to Corfu on your own yacht  you can moor at the Gouvia Marina (Tel: 0030-26610-91900 and 0030-26610-91990), or in Corfu Town at NAOK harbour or at the Old Port.

You can also moor at Benitses Marina, which is situated not far from Corfu town. 

 

 

By Bus

Corfu's long distance bus company, KTEL, has a daily service between Corfu and Athens, Patra, Thessaloniki and other places in Greece.
