Gastouri
Gastouri is located about 11 kms south of Corfu Town. It is a beautiful village surrounded by lush green hills and valleys and enjoys wonderful views of the coast and distant mountains.
Gastouri has many handsome villas and gardens. It's most famous landmark is the Palace of Achillion, built in 1890 as a summer retreat for Elisabeth, Empress of Austria.
Other attractions around Gastouri are the beautiful churches of Aghios Markianos, Aghios Nicolaos, Taxiarches and Aghia Kyriaki. Also visit Vassilakis distillery famous for its products made from local kumquats including kumquat liquor.
