Dassia beach, Corfu

Dassia is a modern, cosmopolitan resort located on the north east coast of Corfu about 14 kms from Corfu Town. The original village of Dassia was one of the first on Corfu to be develped for tourism. These days Dassia has many larger hotels, apartments and even camping available to holidaymakers. Some of the hotels in this area are very beautiful.

Dassia is a lively place and is popular with all ages especially young couples and groups of friends looking for a variety of water sports and nightlife.

Tavernas/Restaurants/Bars:

Dassia has a casual nightlife and there are many tavernas, restaurants, pizzerias, snack bars, beach bars and a couple of discos. Those looking for more lively nightlife go to Ipsos, a 15 minute walk or quick taxi ride away.

Shopping:

As Dassia is a large resort, there are plenty of shops and supermarkets - most of them along the main road.

Dassia is a long, narrow shingle beach sloping gently down to clear shallow waters. It is a pretty beach backed by lush vegetation of pine and olive trees and the gardens of some of the hotels run down to the beach. The centre of the beach is the busiest (with beachside cafes, tavernas and bars), while the ends of the beach are more secluded. Dassia Beach is ideal for children and is a good swimming beach with some shaded areas.

Transport:

There is a regular bus service along the coast and taxis are readily available. Blue buses to Corfu Town run every 20 minutes.
