Best Beaches on Corfu

 

Corfu beaches are some of the best beaches in Greece.  On the north and west coast of Corfu you will generally find stretches of long, golden, sandy beaches - and the sunsets are sensational. On the east coast the beaches tend to be pebble or shingle with many pretty bays and quiet coves.

Agios Georgios SouthAgios Georgios (south west)

Agios Georgios beach is located on the south-western coast of Corfu about 30 km from Corfu Town. It is a beautiful sandy beach about 5 kms long. It is a Blue Flag beach. Watersports are available (windsurfing, paragliding, jet skiing). Boats can be hired.

Agios Georgios Pagi (north west)

Agios Georgios beach is located on the north-western coast of Corfu about 35 kms from Corfu Town. The long, sandy beach (about 1.5 kms) is a beautiful bay between two headlands and is in a relatively quiet location. It is a Blue Flag beach and water sports are available.

Avlaki BeachAvlaki Beach

Avlaki beach is located on the north-east coast of Corfu about 35 kms from Corfu Town. It is a long white, pebble beach, situated between the more well-known resorts of Agios Stephanos and Kassiopi. Avlaki is a quiet beach in a natural setting, close to the Eremites nature reserve. Sun beds are available. No water sports except canoes and sailing. Avlaki is a Blue Flag beach.

Halikunas Beach (or Chalikounas) is located on the south western coast of Corfu near Lake Korrison. The beach is a 3 km long, sandy beach set in a beautiful natural setting. The waters are shallow and the beach is ideal for wind surfing. There are no resort facilities here and the nearest village is Agios Matheos about 6 kms away. Similar beaches in this area are Prassoudi, Kanouli and Skidi. The resort of Agios Georgios (south) is about 8 kms away.

Kalamaki beach is located in the north of Corfu about 45 kms from Corfu Town. It is a white, sandy beach with shallow water. It is a relatively quiet beach with the small village of Apraos above. Kassiopi and Acharavi are very close by. Kalamaki is a Blue Flag Beach.

Kaminaki Beach

Kaminaki beach is located on the north-eastern coast of Corfu. It is a small, white pebbly beach and one of the prettiest on Corfu. Sunbeds, umbrellas and watersports are available.
 

 

 

 

 

Myrtiotisa BeachMyrtiotissa Beach

Myrtiotissa is a very beautiful beach on the west coast of Corfu about 15 kilometres west of Corfu Town. It is in a naturally beautiful area which hasn't been developed. The beach is backed by sheer cliffs covered with trees and shrubs, with rocky promontories at either end. Due to its isolation and natural beauty, Myrtiotissa is popular with nudists.The beach is reached by a steep, rough road. It is a sandy beach with crystal clear water that drops away quickly. As with most west coast beaches, beware of currents. The centre of the beach is more family orientated, with nudist bathers tending to go to the southern end of the beach. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for hire.There are a couple of kiosks on the beach offering sandwiches, cool drinks, coffee and the like. There are a couple of tavernas near the monastery.
