Agios Marcos

Agios Marcos is a beautiful Venetian village located 17.3 kms (about 25 minutes) from Corfu Town and 5 kms inland from Ipsos. The village is in the foothills of Mt Pantokratora with wonderful views over Ipsos and beyond to Corfu Town. Agios Marcos, which dates back to the 11th Century, is classified as a heritage-listed settlement under the protection of the Ministry of Culture. The two churches of Agios Merkourious (one of the oldest Byzantine churches on Corfu) and the Church of Christ Pandokrator (Christ of the Universe) are well worth a visit.
